1. Need Housing Now — Start Here

If you or someone you know is homeless or at risk of losing housing, these are the fastest doors in. You do not need to figure out which program fits — any of these entry points will route you.

• National Call Center for Homeless Veterans — 877-424-3838. Free, confidential, 24/7. Connects veterans to the nearest VA homeless services team.
• Fayetteville VA Medical Center — Homeless Veteran Care Team. 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. Main line 910-488-2120. Ask for the Homeless Veterans Program — they handle food/shelter, transitional and permanent housing, and financial help to prevent homelessness. Program page
• HUD-VASH (Fayetteville). Housing vouchers paired with VA case management — the main permanent-housing program for homeless veterans. Local specialist line: 910-873-4277.
• SSVF — Supportive Services for Veteran Families. Rapid re-housing and homelessness prevention: security deposits, short-term rental help, and case management. Access through the VA homeless team or the national call center above. SSVF overview

3. For Families, Widows & Caregivers

• VA Caregiver Support Program. Support line 855-260-3274. Includes the Family Caregiver Assistance Program — stipends, respite care, and training for those caring for a veteran at home. caregiver.va.gov
• Survivors benefits. Widows, widowers, and dependents of veterans may qualify for VA survivor benefits (DIC). File through the Cumberland County Veterans Services Office above — free assistance.
